CANSKATE PROGRAMS
AGES 3 AND UP
The CanSkate program is geared to beginners of all ages. Whether you are looking to improve basic skating skills for figure skating, hockey, ringette or speed skating, or wish to skate for recreation, fitness or fun, CanSkate will get you there. Canskate is for skaters ages 3 and up of all levels, Canskate Little Stars is geared for skaters ages 4-8 who wants to pursue figure skating while learning to skate, and our Canskate Teen/Adult groups is geared for skaters aged 13+
Conducted in a fun, friendly environment, the CanSkate program showcases a comprehensive series of balance, control and agility skills, using a nationally-tested and proven curriculum that supports skater success in developing stronger basic skills on the ice.
The North Surrey Skating Club follows the Skate Canada CanSkate program is taught with certified Skate Canada Certified Coaches with our volunteer Program Assistants, who help our coaches provide more support for skaters who need it. Program Assistants are figure skaters from our Club who have gone through training and have necessary skills to assist with the Canskate.
Please note that all skaters are required to have their own skates and CSA approved ice helmet. No bike helmets will be permitted on the ice. Skate rentals are not available. Skaters must be at least 3 years of age to register.
